Fortune cookies are popular at Chinese
restaurants in America, but they are not common in other places. Do you know how
to make them? Follow the directions below if you would like to try. Before you
start, cut paper into small pieces and write a fortune on each piece.

This is what you need:
* three eggs * 2/3 cup of sugar
*
1/8 spoon of salt
* 1/3 cup of butter * 1 cup of flour * 2 spoons of water |

1. Beat
the eggs in a big
bowl. |
2. Put in
the sugar, salt, butter, flour
and water
and beat again. |

3. Make
each cookie into a
round
shape. |
4. Heat
the cookies at 350 degrees until
they turn light brown. |
|
5. Put a
fortune in the
center of each
cookie. |
6. Fold
the cookies when they are still
warm. |
